KMS Construction Ltd. is a family owned and operated excavating and earthmoving construction company.
Brothers Emerson and Peter and Emerson’s son Cole lead the company. Emerson is lead estimator and senior manager. Peter and Cole are area managers overseeing multiple projects. Emerson’s wife Karen manages the office and accounting, and Nadine, the daughter of Emerson and Karen is the company’s senior safety coordinator.
The family is well aware that without the dedicated, knowledgeable and competent team members they wouldn’t be able to claim they are one of the most experienced teams in the industry.
The number of people employed range from 40 to 100 throughout the year.
The fleet of equipment has grown to over 150 pieces of equipment.
Emerson works closely with a very experienced project manager, Cal Stewart to bid, manage and execute existing and newly acquired projects. Many times both of these men offer their knowledge and expertise to new clients in not only the execution of a project but the design. Our company has the knowledge to provide the best way to complete the work.
As area managers, Peter and Cole strive to maintain reliable, knowledgeable and experienced crews to execute our projects. We have many long standing employees that we rely on every day for their professionalism to complete the work. Both of these men have worked every aspect of the job. They have been the labourer, the operator, the job foreman and through the years gained the knowledge and experience to be able to successfully manage their projects, maintain their fleet of equipment and train and help develop valuable workers. Peter and Cole also very much have input along with Emerson and the project manager when it comes to the best way to execute a project.
Karen started the paperwork with literally the basics. A pen, a pencil, a ledger and a chequebook. She has taken this multimillion dollar company into today’s age of computers, internet and all the other technology that has come along in the last 30 years. Karen works with a reliable and experienced Controller, Brian Kuski. Together they keep paperwork flowing.
Although Nadine did not start the company Health and Safety program, she has brought it where it is today. 17 years ago Nadine took the program over and has made significant changes. In 2010 Nadine brought on Sharon, who is Peter’s wife. Together Nadine and Sharon manage the health and safety program. Our company has been COR certified since 2011. The Certificate of Recognition program is a strict program initiated through the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association. Between the requirements of the COR program and industry requirements our company strives to maintain and exceed the standards to ensure we execute safe projects and keep our workers healthy. In addition to being COR certified we are also registered with ISN Networld. Being a part of ISN Networld requires us to adhere to our clients health and safety expectations in order to be eligible to bid, acquire and execute projects to client standards.
KMS Construction Ltd. is a company with a wealth of knowledge and experience. If the work involves earth movement you will not find a more experienced team to execute the project.
